There is a lot of talk on the internet and on social media about Leadership. Personal leadership, democratic leadership, horizontal leadership, agile leadership and so on. Every HR Director want’s something with or about leadership in their learning plan for the employees, and leadership is a main starting pont in a lot of consulting talks I have.
Throughout my career I am encountering the same problems and challenges, in big and small companies, in the corporate world and in the education field:
What works according to me is this:
Too many managers and HR departments use their organizational authority instead of inviting people to an adventure, one with meaning, and one that will require growth. Managers mistakenly believe everyone is motivated by money. They are not. In the core I believe and see people want to bring meaning. In their own life and in the life of others. Meaning for the ones they love, the ones they work with and the ones they work for. I believe and I experience this deep longing with the people I work with and for. Less fear, more love, honesty and inclusiveness is a good start for good leadership, in a persons own life and in the community he/she lives and works. What meaning you want to put into your world?
