As we became adults, the brain is the hardware, and the mind is the software.
We need to connect the mind with the heart again. Let's say: an update of the software.
I want to give you some possible steps to take.
There is awareness. Being aware of your situation, your conditioning, your starting points in life. Awareness about you, your fellow people on this planet and the nature, the whole setting.
There is also consciousness. When being aware there is a possibility. Every time you are aware of something, someone, yourself in a situation, a possible choice, next step, you have the possibility to take this into your head and your heart. Feel with all the senses what it means. For you. For the other. For the environment.
And there is responsibility. The ability to respond. Or not to respond. But to know and to feel what to do or not to do. Deliberately, consciously making a choice. And be ok with it.
The key to personal leadership is the ability to integrate your head (IQ) with your heart (EQ). Your hardware needs different software, or an update. As Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh says: “The longest journey you will ever take is the eighteen inches from your head to your heart.” Our hearts are where essential leadership qualities like passion, compassion and courage reside.
That is where you can make a difference. A next step is updating your software.
How are you going to do that?
Have a good update.
